Ski & Snowboard Lessons at Hoedown Hill
Hoedown Hill’s Ski & Ride School is built to help guests progress faster, build confidence, and enjoy being on snow—without the crowds or pressure of a large mountain resort. Whether you’re brand new or working on refining your skills, our instructors deliver structured, approachable lessons for skiers and snowboarders of all ages.
Lessons are offered for skiing and snowboarding, with separate lesson plans for each discipline to ensure proper technique and progression.

Lesson Types
GROUP LESSONS (2-HOUR)
* Up to 6 guests can participate in group lessons.
Best for: First-time guests, families, and anyone looking for structured instruction in a social setting.
Group lessons balance personalized coaching with a fun group environment. Class sizes are intentionally small to ensure every student gets meaningful instructor attention.

How it works
- Maximum 6 students per instructor
- Groups are organized by age first, then skill level
- Skiing and snowboarding are always taught separately
- Helmets required for ages 4–17, recommended for adults
Schedule & booking
- Monday–Friday | 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
- Online booking preferred
- Walk-ups available on a first-come, first-served basis (limited availability)
Check-in & arrival
- Check-in is located outside the Rental Shop on the east side of the building
- Guests must be fully geared up and ready 15 minutes before lesson start
PRIVATE LESSONS (1-HOUR)
Best for: Guests who want maximum flexibility, faster progression, or one-on-one coaching.
Private lessons are fully customized around the guest’s goals, comfort level, and pace. These sessions are ideal for both first-timers and guests looking to refine specific skills.

Check-in & arrival policy
- Participants must complete a Participation Waiver and Ski School Lesson Form prior to arrival
- Guests must be fully geared up and ready 15 minutes before the scheduled start
- Late arrivals may join in progress or receive a one-time reschedule, at management discretion
Our Instructors
Hoedown Hill’s Ski School team is focused on safety, fun & progression for exceptional guest experience no matter age or skill level. Our instructors are trained to work with all ages and ability levels in a supportive, confidence-building environment.
Instructor qualifications include:
- HDH Ski School Certification (minimum requirement)
- PSIA/AASI National Certifications (Levels I, II, III)
- Ongoing in-season training focused on safety and skill progression
SELF PACED LEARNING
Rentals
- Rentals are not included with lessons
- Guests needing equipment should reserve rentals in advance
- Allow at least 30 extra minutes for rental fitting before your lesson
Lift Tickets
- Lift tickets are not included with lessons
- Required ticket types:
- Monday–Friday: Daily Lift Ticket
- Saturday, Sunday & Holidays: All-Day Lift Ticket
What to Bring
- Dress appropriately for weather conditions
(snow pants, gloves, goggles recommended) - No on-site storage is available—store personal items in your vehicle

Weather Policy
Lessons operate in most weather conditions. Sessions may be canceled if conditions are deemed unsafe by Hoedown Hill Ski Patrol or leadership.
Cancellation Policy
- All lesson sales are final unless Order Protection is purchased at checkout
- Cancellations made 24+ hours in advance may qualify for:
- One free date change, or
- Tixr credit
- For assistance, contact support@tixr.com
